Additional Rules for the .EDU.GI Subdomain

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to describe the rules for the allocation of names within the edu.gi subdomain.

Scope

This procedure applies to all names requested for allocation within the edu.gi subdomain and the neutral subdomains.

Process Detail

The edu.gi subdomain is for the registration of names relating to Gibraltar Educational Institutions.

A Gibraltar Institution may have an entry in EDU.GI provided it satisfies at least one of the following statements.

• A School or College.
• Institutions that conduct research where a reasonable proportion of the results are placed in the public domain.
• Learned societies.
• Offices within the Gibraltar Department of Education.

Mandatory Rules

• The rules as specified in the document Rules for the .GI Domain and Subdomains shall apply in full.
